In France!

Hey everyone!
So after an exhausting airport/airplane experience I am finally in France! We arrived in Talloires and 11:30ish. It is slightly overwhelming but overall exciting to met so many people. So I met 20 people at the Boston airport but then we knew that we still had to meet 8-9 more people. I met my roommate in Geneva and she is Swiss. She speaks German, English, French, and a little bit of Mandarin. I really like my roommate and we get along really well so I a mvery glad that this is the way things ended up. I really like all of the people on the trip. We took a tour of Talloires and it is absolutely gorgeous. The lake is perfectly situated between the mountains so everything looks perfect. It is gorgeous. The weather is perfect. Gabriella is the director and she is very nice and informative. She gave us some information on host families but all of the staff is very open and willling and availabel to help us in any way that they can. We are waiting for our host families to come pick us up between 4-6. Right now we are watching a french movie called the Visitor. It's like the french version of Monty Python. We don't have to get up until 11 tomorrow for the bus because our schedule is different for the first day. Tomorrow is more orientation. I am very excited for the rest of the trip but I am also very tired so I hope I get a good nights sleep. By the way there is a 6 hour times difference so we are 6 hours ahead.

  1. As with Paul, go Lianna! So are the group conversations pretty much in English? Always envious of people with more than one language...kind of magical.

Hope you got your good nights sleep...

  4. JC I don't need help with Mandarin because I don't want to learn Mandarin while I'm learning french. LOL:) The group conversations are mainly in english. I'm glad that you all figured out how to use my blog. I will try and post later. WiFi isn't too plentiful at my house so...
